Biographical Notes

I was born on the 24th of December, 1975 in Giulianova (TE).

I am single and I live in Bellante (TE).

Education

1989 - 1994: I attended the Istituto Tecnico Commerciale Statale per  Programmatori “Blaise Pascal” of Teramo where I received the Diploma Degree as Programming Accounter with an overall rate of 60/60.

1994 - 2001: I attended the University of L'Aquila where I received the Laurea Degree in Computer Science on the 24th of July, 2001 with an overall rate of 110/110 “summa cum laude”. Thesis' title: “Algoritmi di scheduling online per l'ottimizzazione del tempo di esecuzione e della memoria richiesta”, advisor: Prof. Michele Flammini.

Starting from the first University Year 1994/95 until the Academic Year 1999/2000, I was assigned a fellowship from the “Azienda per il Diritto allo Studio Universitario” of L'Aquila, for an overall period of six consecutive years.

1st of March, 2002 - 28th of February, 2005: I was a Ph.D. Student in Computer Science at the Computer Science Department of  the University of L'Aquila. I was assigned a three year lasting fellowship. 

6th of June, 2005: I was awarded the Ph.D. in Computer Science by the University of L'Aquila with an overall rate of “ottimo/ottimo” upon defence of the thesis “Pricing and equilibria in non-cooperative networks”, advisor: Prof. Michele Flammini.

On the 20th of September, 2005 it was awared as the Best Italian Ph.D. thesis of 2005 in Theoretical Computer Science for the track of Algorithms and Formal Languages by the Italian EATCS.

Positions

3rd of September, 2004: I won the national competition for a position as Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics “Ennio De Giorgi” of the University of Lecce (then become University of Salento).

1st of January, 2005: I was hired as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics “Ennio De Giorgi” of the University of Lecce.

Research Interests

My research interests focus on Algorithmic Game Theory, Communication Networks, Algorithms, Optimization and Complexity.

14th of October - 12th of November, 2003: Visitor at the Graduate School of Industrial Administration of the Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh PA. Invited by Prof. R.Ravi.

15th of November - 31th of December, 2004 and 21st of January - 20th of February, 2005: Visitor at the University of Patras, Greece. Invited by Prof. Christos Kaklamanis.

I have served as a reviewer for several highly reputed International Conferences (ESA, ICALP, MFCS, SPAA, SAGT, WINE, IPDPS, SIROCCO, WAOA) and Journals (TCS, IEEE Transactions on Networks, JOIN).

Academic Years 2006/07 and 2007/08: I taught the courses “Linguaggi di Programmazione” and “Laboratorio di Programmazione” at the University of  Salento.

Academic Year 2008/09: I am teaching the course “Linguaggi di Programmazione” at the University of  Salento.

From 2002 to 2005 I have supervised some thesis for the Computer Science Degree of the University of L'Aquila.
